Podcasts.......well I have already linked a podcast to my blog back in April when I completed #9 Finding Feeds (http://www.theotaku.com/), but lets see what else we can find on these podcast directories mentioned in the discovery exercise.
I tried the link to Yahoo: What is a podcast but it is no longer available, the same thing happened with Podcast.net and Yahoo Podcasts , but I finally had some luck with Podcastalley.com. It was an easy site to navigate, I just typed anime in the search tab and was given a list of 200 podcasts on this subject....so hard to choose just one. I ended up choosing number 140 Supanova Pop Culture Podcast, which is about an event that happens twice a year in Australia and covers things like "Movies, TV, Comics, Anime, Manga, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and everything else pop culutre". I added the podcast to my blog, but it's a bit of a joke......it hasn't been updated since 2005.
Podcasts could be a great benefit to the library and could be used in a few different ways like training (catalogue use), upcoming events, or recordings of things like author visits. It would benefit us if we could use this technology to keep our patrons informed.
